Bartlett Kendall provides bespoke advice and support to schools, subject leaders and teachers. Examples of current INSET provision are as follows:

In-school support

Whole-staff development on all areas of design and technology in the Primary and Foundation age range. The sessions are focused on needs identified by schools. Sessions include:

• developing approaches to creative designing
• developing thinking skills in D&T
• planning advice and support
• practical activity days based on mechanisms throughout the primary and foundation age range
• using textiles creatively
• health and safety for primary teachers based on the core competencies from the Design and Technology Association

Workshops

We provide a wide range of workshops for schools, working alongside colleagues with the children. Sessions can be based around the QCA schemes of work, or specific areas of design and technology and wider projects. They include:

• developing design and communication skills
• developing thinking skills in design and technology
• developing creative designing strategies
• using ICT to enhance design projects
• paper-engineering projects
• making and creating books
• textiles – new materials
• textiles - new-from-old recycling projects
• designing and making with Formafoam
